Residents at the Birches Assisted Living in Clarendon Hills, a Masterpiece Living Community, have gotten in touch with their inner thespian through a new program called Acting Out. It began when Activities Assistant, Ellie Orozco, introduced this social and creative outlet for residents so that participants could, “have fun, socialize and get to know each other in a more creative and fun way.” The idea was to create a freestyle forum where participants could be themselves … or any other character they decided to be! Now, more than a dozen regulars are getting together to read plays, act and sing.
“The residents feel like they can trust one another in the group, and that`s a big win for me. I love to see them smile, laugh, and be happy. That is something I will cherish forever,” said Orozco.
